Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Fleet Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles. You will receive work duties from the Lead Mechanic or management and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining PM programs, using AVMS for shop tracking, and assisting with cost control through purchasing and inventory management. Experience with DOT rules and a strong teamwork ethic are important.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining fleet vehicles and performing preventive maintenance to meet standards.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and state vehicle laws.
• Proficiency in parts procurement, inventory control and cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet vehicles focusing on Preventive Maintenance programs to meet 100% compliance.
• Utilize the AVMS fleet management system to track shop operations.
• Assist with cost control through purchasing and inventory management; support safety training to control vehicle costs.
• Ensure shop quality and OSHA standards; inspect vehicles for compliance with Vestis and DOT standards.
• Perform regular maintenance on delivery vans and company cars.
• Repair/maintain engines, brakes, electrical, suspension, and lift gates.
