Job summary

Cogent Talent Solutions seeks a Lead Fleet Mechanic to support rapid response and restoration services for utility clients. You will maintain the fleet, diagnose mechanical issues, and oversee emergency repairs to ensure readiness and safety.

The role emphasizes adherence to maintenance schedules, asset optimization, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on efficient deployment during outages and emergencies. CDL is preferred but not required for all candidates.

Qualifications

• Certifications in commercial fleet maintenance; minimum of 5 years proven fleet maintenance experience.
• Hands-on diesel engine and heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and safety compliance.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review preventive maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are maintained according to schedule.
• Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Addresses all identified maintenance needs in an efficient manner while ensuring compliance with maintenance reporting requirements.
• Oversees and leads the emergency response maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Analyze asset data to identify opportunities for optimization, including right-sizing the fleet and minimizing downtime.
• Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and programs to extend asset lifespan and reduce costs.
• Assist in enforcing safety policies and procedures for safe operation of fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance, including vehicle inspections, emissions testing, and driver licensing.
• Assist in deploying fleet assets rapidly in emergencies and power outages.
