Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) seeks a Lead Firmware Engineer to design, implement, test, and document embedded firmware for mission-critical protection and control systems in energy infrastructure.

You will collaborate with hardware, RTL, and software teams, develop robust designs and verification strategies, and mentor engineers while addressing internal customer needs across global projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CE/CS/EE or related field.
• Ability to read hardware schematics and datasheets.
• Experience in embedded/real-time firmware development.
• Collaborates with HW, RTL, and software engineers.
• 6+ years in embedded/firmware domains.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and document embedded firmware and software systems.
• Collaborate with RTL and Hardware Engineers to optimize firmware interactions.
• Develop clear requirements, robust designs, and verification strategies.
• Mentor Engineers, Associate Engineers, and Technicians.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for internal customers and cross-functional teams.
