Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is hiring a Firmware Engineering Manager for the R&D Communications product group to lead embedded Linux/RTOS firmware efforts and guide a team of engineers.

In this role you will manage backlogs, define design docs, write test plans, collaborate with product managers, and drive schedules and labor estimates while advancing SEL values and world-class manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of engineering or management experience in embedded Linux/RTOS firmware development using C/C++.
• Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products and processes.
• Strong desire to develop employees and lead projects.
• Ability to mentor others and work cooperatively in a team.

Responsabilités

• Serve as technical lead on embedded Linux firmware projects.
• Manage and develop individual contributors and the team backlog.
• Create and maintain internal design documentation and test plans.
• Prepare design and system-level specifications; review designs and test plans.
• Provide accurate project plans and labor estimates; monitor progress.
• Collaborate with product managers on new concepts and long-term strategy.
• Engage with cross-discipline teams to deliver world-class products.
