Job summary

Kaloutas is seeking an experienced Lead Fireproofing Applicator to lead crews on major commercial and industrial projects across New England. You will take ownership in the field, ensuring high-quality spray-applied fireproofing work and safe site practices.

You should bring 7+ years of hands-on experience, crew leadership skills, and the ability to read plans and specifications while coordinating with project managers. Kaloutas values craftsmanship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in commercial fireproofing on-site.
• Knowledge of spray-applied fireproofing materials and equipment.
• Experience leading crews or foremen.
• Ability to meet project schedules and quality standards.
• Read plans and specs; understand job-site requirements.
• Strong communication, organization and safety focus.
• Ability to perform physical duties and travel to New England sites.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead fireproofing crews on commercial/industrial sites.
• Apply spray-applied fireproofing accurately and efficiently.
• Set up, operate, clean and troubleshoot equipment.
• Read project plans, specs and product requirements.
• Plan daily work and communicate expectations to crew.
• Monitor production, material use, quality and progress.
• Ensure proper surface prep and finished quality.
• Train and mentor less-experienced applicators.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and document site activities.
• Represent Kaloutas professionally to customers.

What You'll Do

• Lead fireproofing crews on commercial and industrial job sites
• Apply spray-applied fire-resistive materials accurately and efficiently
• Set up, operate, clean, and troubleshoot fireproofing equipment
• Read project plans, specifications, and product requirements
• Plan daily work and communicate expectations to the crew
• Monitor production, material usage, quality, and job progress
• Ensure proper surface preparation, application thickness, and finished quality
• Train and mentor less-experienced applicators
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Complete required job-site and safety documentation
• Represent Kaloutas professionally with customers and project partners

What We're Looking For

• At least 7 years of hands-on commercial fireproofing experience
• Strong knowledge of spray-applied fireproofing materials, equipment, and application methods
• Previous crew leadership or foreman experience
• Ability to produce high-quality work while meeting project schedules
• Experience reading plans, specifications, and job-site requirements
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to job-site safety and accountability
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, climbing, bending, and working at heights
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel to job sites throughout New England as needed
