Job summary

Kaloutas is seeking a Lead Fireproofing Applicator to supervise on-site application on major commercial and industrial projects across New England. You will lead a crew, operate fireproofing equipment, and ensure accurate thickness while prioritizing safety.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of fireproofing experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to train and mentor junior workers. Competitive pay and year-round work are offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of fireproofing experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Ability to read blueprints and ensure required thickness.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting spray-applied fireproofing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and OSHA safety card.

Responsibilities

• Lead fireproofing application work on-site.
• Operate spray equipment, pumps, hoses, and mixers.
• Spray beams, decks, and columns to specified thickness.
• Set up and troubleshoot pumps and equipment; monitor safety.
• Record daily cup weights for yield and adhesion.
• Mentor crew members and uphold quality and safety standards.

What You’ll Do

• Leading fireproofing application work on-site
• Operating fireproofing equipment, paint pumps, and mixers, including Graco, Titan, Hy-Flex, Putzmeister, Cool, and similar equipment
• Spraying beams, decks, and structural columns to the required thickness while maximizing efficiency and minimizing overspray and material waste
• Setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining pumps, mixers, hoses, and other trade-related equipment
• Recording daily cup weights to ensure maximum yield and proper material adhesion
• Reading blueprints and monitoring application quality and thickness
• Working safely from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding
• Following OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures
• Keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe
• Mentoring crew members and setting the standard for quality, productivity, and safety

What We’re Looking For

• At least 7 years of fireproofing experience
• Strong experience with spray-applied fireproofing materials (SFRM)
• The ability to read blueprints and consistently achieve required thickness
• Experience operating and troubleshooting fireproofing equipment
• A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an OSHA card
• A positive attitude and genuine pride in your craft

Willingness to travel to job sites throughout New England as needed
