Job summary

Montcure, LLC is hiring a Lead Financial Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to direct fiscal operations support for a U.S. Navy / DoW financial management organization.

You will serve as the senior-most technical authority and principal advisor for the fiscal operations department, guiding a multi-tier team across Navy ERP (SAP ECC) and staff, ensuring audit readiness and system optimization. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of DoD or Navy financial management experience with Navy ERP exposure.
• Experience leading teams of financial management analysts and Navy ERP specialists.
• Ability to brief and influence senior leaders at SES level.
• Advanced knowledge of Navy ERP (SAP ECC) financial modules (FI, MM, SD).
• Experience designing process improvements and audit readiness programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior Financial Management SME and advisor for Navy financial execution, funds control, and reporting.
• Lead day-to-day performance of the fiscal operations team, including mentoring and development.
• Escalation point for complex UMDs, NULOs, and aged transactions; drive reconciliation methodologies.
• Own AP/AR reconciliation and establish controls for audit readiness.
• Direct analysis of complex financial data to identify errors and risk.
• Oversee budget execution, funds status, commitments, obligations, and expenditures.
• Act as functional authority for Navy ERP (FI/MM/SD), including configuration and data analysis.
• Lead audit readiness, FIAR, and internal controls per OMB A-123 and DoD regs.
• Design training curricula and SOPs for Navy ERP users.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system utilization.
• Advise leadership on policy and financial impacts of decisions.
• Define enterprise process-improvement initiatives across the department.
