Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Finance and Accounting Analyst to drive financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis within a complex, shared services environment. This role leads monthly close activities, including cost allocations and accruals, and delivers executive‑level dashboards with actionable insights for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
• Experience with large data sets and multiple financial systems (e.g., Cognos, Costpoint, TM1).
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement mindset; automate financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare P&L analysis and validate forecasts; support division level P&L.
• Review reconciliations, analyze earned/unbilled items for accuracy.
• Review monthly project billing submissions with proper approvals.
• Track outstanding accounts receivable for management review.
• Prepare quarterly revenue adjustments for rate variances.
• Monitor costs, billing adjustments, and sub-contractor expenditures.
• Prepare CIF and support management reviews.
• Oversee monthly accruals and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Assist in audit activities and maintain compliance documentation.
• Mentor junior financial analysts.
