Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Finance and Accounting Analyst to drive financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis within a complex shared services environment. This role leads monthly close, allocates costs, records accruals, and delivers executive dashboards with actionable insights for senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will influence stakeholders, automate reporting, and improve planning processes with modern tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting (preferably in shared services).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
• Experience with large, complex data sets and multiple financial systems (Cognos, Costpoint, TM1).
• Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive monthly close activities, including cost allocations and accruals.
• Prepare Profit and Loss analysis and variance to forecasts for divisions.
• Oversee/review monthly accruals and project billing submissions.
• Develop monthly dashboards and provide variance analyses for VP-level leaders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting cycles, and pricing analyses for projects.
• Mentor junior analysts and automate reporting processes.
