Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Finance and Accounting Analyst to drive financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis within a complex, shared services environment. This role leads monthly close activities, including cost allocations and accruals, and delivers executive‑level dashboards with actionable insights for senior leadership.

The ideal candidate brings experience with large data sets and financial systems, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
• Experience with large, complex data sets and multiple financial systems (e.g., Cognos, Costpoint, TM1).
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders.
• Experience supporting cost allocation models or internal service organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities, including cost allocations and accruals.
• Prepare P&L analyses and variance explanations for forecasts.
• Review revenue recognition and project billing accuracy.
• Develop monthly dashboards and variance analyses for VP-level leadership.
• Support quarterly forecasting for a large shared services organization.
• Mentor junior financial analysts and drive process improvements.
