Job summary

VCI Construction, LLC is seeking a Lead Field Trainer to develop and deliver hands-on training for employees in aerial and underground telecommunications construction. You will train on practices, tools, safety, and quality, while evaluating skills and supporting career growth.

This is a field-based role with frequent travel between sites. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in telecom construction, strong coaching abilities, and a proven track record of advancing field staff through training

Qualifications

Must have HS diploma or GED.
7+ years of telecommunications construction experience.
Strong hands-on experience in aerial and/or underground construction.
Experience training, mentoring, or coaching field employees.
Strong knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and field practices.
Ability to evaluate employee skills and provide constructive feedback.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in field environments.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Responsibilities

Train new and existing field employees through classroom and hands-on instruction.
Train employees on aerial and underground construction practices.
Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and work methods.
Conduct skills assessments and evaluate employee competency.
Identify skill gaps and provide coaching or additional training.
Reinforce company safety, quality, and production standards.
Support career development from entry-level positions through Foreman.
Provide equipment and tool training, including safe operation and inspections.
Conduct refresher training when performance, safety, or quality issues arise.
Work with Operations, Safety, and HR to maintain consistent training standards.
Maintain training records, assessments, and employee qualifications.
Help develop training materials, checklists, procedures, and programs.
Provide professional feedback and serve as a positive field role model.
