Job summary

Cogent Analytics partners with a growing civil-engineering and surveying team in the Indianapolis area to hire an experienced Surveyor for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking projects across central Indiana.

This hands-on, field-focused role collaborates with project managers, CAD staff, and field crews to deliver precise field data and high-quality deliverables from mobilization through final products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional field surveying experience.
• Experience with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Ability to read legal descriptions, plats and deeds.
• Valid Indiana driver1s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys.
• Operate and maintain total stations, GPS/GNSS, and data collectors.
• Process field data; prepare point files and surfaces for CAD production.
• Research plats, deeds, easements, and county records to support boundary determinations.
• Coordinate with CAD technicians to ensure translation of field data.
• Lead field crew operations, equipment logistics, and mobilization.
• Document field conditions, anomalies, and findings in field notes and reports.
• Ensure compliance with Indiana survey law and professional standards.
• Track project progress and communicate schedule or scope issues.
