Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our Nashville, TN team. You will lead field crews, supervise survey work, mentor junior staff, and ensure adherence to quality control and safety standards on diverse projects while coordinating with contractors and clients.

Candidates should have 3+ years of land surveying experience, familiarity with boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience on a land surveying party.
• Prior Party Chief experience a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Thorough knowledge of stakeout procedures and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Familiar with boundary surveys and land title surveys.
• Ability to perform topographic, road frontage, and as-built surveys.
• Experience with total station, GPS and data collection; adapt to new equipment.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of survey field crew and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with contractors to provide survey services.
• Identify controls for property lines and decide how to proceed with the survey.
• Gather information and assign tasks to crew members for efficient surveys.
• Discuss work with clients as necessary.
• Make calculations and maintain essential survey records.
• Ensure survey truck and equipment are well-maintained.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and communicate with management to maximize effort.
