Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. seeks a field survey crew chief to oversee operations in the Charlottesville, VA region. You will lead field teams performing topographic, boundary, and construction staking, ALTA, and as-built tasks, while ensuring safety and data quality.

The role requires organizing field work, maintaining equipment, and delivering accurate field data to the office. Overnight travel may be required, and proficiency with survey tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years progressive experience in survey field operations with no less than 1 year as a survey crew chief.
• Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, data collectors and GPS equipment).
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Operate field survey crews on projects in central Virginia (Norfolk) and surrounding area.
• Organize field work to emphasize quality, safety, budgets, and client service.
• Accurately collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, and maintain records of work and expenses.
• Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
