Job summary

Keeley Companies in St. Louis, MO is hiring a Survey Crew Chief to lead our Geospatial Group field operations. You will manage a surveying crew, operate GPS units and total stations, and ensure data accuracy for topographic and construction staking projects.

The role requires 3–5 years in land surveying with leadership experience, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Proficiency with Trimble equipment, AutoCAD, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in land surveying with 1–2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in field data collection and reporting.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience reading electrical, structural and civil plans a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a field survey crew for topo, staking, and land surveys.
  • Set up and operate GPS equipment, total stations, levels, and related tools.
  • Ensure accurate data collection, measurements, angles, and elevations.
  • Document survey data with field notes, sketches, and records.
  • Coordinate daily tasks to meet project deadlines and milestones.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients on requirements.
  • Interpret survey data and provide design/construction recommendations.
  • Maintain calibration and care of surveying instruments; report issues.
