Job summary

Clark Construction Group, LLC is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate field operations on a project, ensuring work aligns with the schedule and contract documents. You will supervise trades, manage safety programs, and maintain cost-effective execution while building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Ideal candidates have 3–6+ years in field construction, heavy civil experience, and a solid grasp of scheduling, contracts, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred but not required.
• 3 to 6+ years of field construction experience.
• Heavy civil construction experience preferred with focus on self-perform and concrete.
• Ability to direct work of others including subs and suppliers.
• Knowledge of scheduling, contracts, equipment, and manpower.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations; proven implementation on site.
• Demonstrates Clark Standards of Excellence in multiple soft skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate installation of work per contract documents and schedule.
• Understand contract scope for the area or trades assigned.
• Develop understanding of activity durations.
• Plan equipment usage for optimum utilization.
• Track material/equipment delivery dates affecting areas/trades.
• Supervise field workforce; monitor budgets and remediate variances.
• Implement safety program; perform safety inspections and hazard reviews.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop relationships to generate and win the right work.
• Participate in recruiting and retaining top industry talent.
• Exceed stakeholders' expectations by anticipating needs and goals.
