Actalent in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-up commercial projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality. This onsite leader coordinates subcontractors, manages project schedules, drives field productivity, and maintains strong communication with project teams through all phases from sitework to turnover.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction experience with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent role.
• Experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $10 million or more.
• Experience leading projects from sitework through final completion.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily field operations for ground-up commercial construction projects from initial sitework through final completion.
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors to ensure on-time, high-quality work.
• Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting activities to keep the project on track.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company safety standards, promoting a strong safety culture on the jobsite.
• Monitor and control field activities to maintain project budgets, minimizing rework and delays.
• Collaborate with project managers, owners, and design partners to address field issues and support timely decision-making.
• Coordinate and manage installation and integration of complex building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structure).
• Review construction documents to identify issues and provide input on constructability and sequencing.
• Drive productivity in the field by planning daily activities and allocating resources.
• Document field activities and progress for reporting and communication.
• Support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeout.
