Job summary

Pepper Construction in Hobart, IN is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations, manage schedules and labor, and drive safety and quality on commercial projects. This role partners with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in field leadership, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple trades across a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction activities in the field.
• Experience with scheduling, manpower planning, quality control, and jobsite safety.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-interval planning.
• Coordinate and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners.
• Plan manpower requirements and manage labor resources effectively.
• Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement solutions.
• Manage project logistics, documentation, quality control, and safety compliance.
• Track labor, material, and equipment costs and support cost-control efforts.
• Maintain coordination with Project Managers and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems, including MEP coordination.
