Job summary

Pepper Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial projects in the Cincinnati area. You will manage day-to-day site activities, coordinate trades, and ensure work is performed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

You'll partner with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and subcontractors, uphold safety plans, and mentor field team members while driving collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in field supervision within commercial construction.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. As a Superintendent, you will lead field operations for commercial construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll oversee Pepper Construction field team members, subcontractors, and specialty trades while partnering closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and trade partners to deliver successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage day-to-day jobsite operations from project start through closeout.
• Coordinate and direct field personnel, subcontractors, and specialty trade partners.
• Develop strong working relationships that promote collaboration and project success.
• Plan and manage manpower needs to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Coordinate work activities and logistics, including material staging, site access, and owner operations.
• Partner with Project Management teams to ensure efficient project execution.
• Lead project planning, startup, and ongoing coordination meetings.
• Champion jobsite safety by developing and executing project safety plans.
• Conduct pre-installation meetings with trade partners before work begins.
• Perform regular safety inspections and audits, documenting findings and corrective actions.
• Proactively monitor field activities and intervene as needed to maintain safe, productive operations.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a field supervision role within commercial construction.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
