Lead Field Service Technician – Offshore Flushing

Job summary

BlueFin is seeking a Lead Service Technician I to execute field tasks and lead shifts. You will perform high-velocity flushing, NAS filtration, chemical cleaning, hydro-blasting, umbilical services, harsh chemical pumping, and pressure testing.

Duties include supervising up to two field personnel and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Based in Lafayette, LA, this role requires travel across the US and Gulf of Mexico, with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in the energy industry, or related sector.
• 3 years of experience in related field position.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and perform field services in accordance with work plan, procedures and/or SOP, and ability to distinguish the work at hand from the work plan/procedure and how to proceed while making field decisions to drive the project.
• Understanding of how to operate pump(s), filtration services, flushing of certain process systems, process flows and drawings, tools that are used, etc.
• Knowledge and proven ability to operate equipment utilized and to train employees on such equipment.
• Lead a field work shift of no more than 2 personnel.
• Proficient in one or more pipeline and process services product lines with a working knowledge of two or more.
• Ability to train and develop Service Technicians on job requirements.
• Service, maintain, repair, and test equipment/ tools for pre/post jobs or as instructed in shop.
• Write or participate in writing Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) for job task assigned.
• Increase knowledge and participate in training on other product lines and services.
• Participation and compliance with BlueFin HSE and Quality Management System.
• Comply with all company policies (Safety, quality, general, SOP’s, etc)
• Required to work on both land and offshore jobs
• Available 24-hour call (except for scheduled PTO)
• Have reliable means of transportation to and from BlueFin office
• Travel through United States and Gulf of Mexico; staying overnight for extended periods
• Communicate effectively with clients and co-workers both office and field related
• Other duties as assigned
