Job summary

Hawthorne Cat in California seeks a Lead Service Technician to guide a team in troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar equipment. You will be the primary liaison between shop personnel and Technical Services, leading repairs and ensuring quality service.

The role requires extensive Caterpillar product knowledge, strong hydraulics/powertrain skills, and valid CA licenses. Expect hands-on work with modern diagnostics in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eight years experience in the repair of Caterpillar products.
• Expertise in all phases of Caterpillar service operation.
• Understanding of all Caterpillar product line.
• Expert working knowledge of hydraulics and power trains.
• Expert working knowledge in the repairs of electrical and electronic systems.
• Must have valid Driver’s License with a good record.
• California Class “C” driver’s license (shop).
• California Class “B” driver’s license required for field work.
• Furnish all hand tools to repair/test hydraulic, air, power train, electrical/electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Helps ensure a safe, productive, and clean working environment.
• Guides and mentors workforce: troubleshooting, repairs, SIS, ET, TMI, SIMSi, DSN, etc.
• Schedules repairs with Service Communicator in line with customer expectations.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment.
• Schedules/Performs new equipment pre-delivery inspections.
• Communicates with customers for complaint/repair clarity as needed.
