Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Field Service Technician I, Lead to support fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and service fuel cells at a customer site.

This role requires strong technical skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while representing Plug Power professionally. Heavy travel may be required to support customer sites and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• 3+ years of direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service fuel cells at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations of the fleet at a location.
• Execute field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide emergency support service to customers as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support.
• May require troubleshooting of high‑pressure hydrogen storage, delivery and fueling systems.
• Communicate with customer personnel and regional service reps regarding maintenance issues.
• Complete administrative duties and documentation including reports and service logs.
