Job description

Summary:
The Lead Technician will lead a team of Field Service Technicians with operating and maintainingutility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assetssuch assolar panels, trackers, power inverters, and substation components.
Requirements:
  • Mentors and setspositive example for junior technicians.
  • Collaborates with senior line managers for plant maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
  • Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.
  • Utilizeshand tools effectivelyand appropriately.
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintainsinventoryof spareparts and consumables.
  • Assist in development of site operating plans.
  • Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
  • Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.
  • Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
  • Interfaces with project subcontractors.
  • Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
  • Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identifiedas a priority by Operations Control Center.
  • Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Safety:
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Leadership:
  • Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.
  • Manages one or more direct reports.
  • Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.
  • Communicates regularly with direct reports ongoals, accomplishments, and information on policies.

Qualifications:
  • High school/GED General Education required.
  • Associates Degreerelated Technical Degree preferred.
  • Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.
  • Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.
  • 5+ years or more related electrical maintenance experience required.
  • 3+ years or moreMediumvoltage electrical work experience required.
  • 2+ years or moreHigh voltage electrical workexperiencepreferred.
  • 2+ years managing or leading field technicians.
  • Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
  • Intermediate
    • High voltage electrical power systems.
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Advanced
    • Low, medium, high voltage electrical power systems, drawings and circuit theory.
    • OSHA regulations.
    • Hand tools.
    • Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation.
    • Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera).
    • ANSI/NETA/MTS.
    • SCADA systems.
  • Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 minutes from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
  • Functional Competencies Include:Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
  • Domestic travel 5-15% required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
Anticipated base salary range: $37.20 - $46.50
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
