Job description

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our Specialized Field Service department as a Lead Field Service Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide array of electrical equipment, including low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and more. As a leader in both the shop and field environments, you'll spearhead critical operations, ensuring the reliability and functionality of essential electrical systems. Responsibilities
  • Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
  • Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment, and parts replacement.
  • Utilize and accurately read meters.
  • Read schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Troubleshoot circuit controls.
  • Read and plot time-current curves.
  • Understand electrical one-line drawings and symbols.
  • Test power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
  • Accurately document using Power DB.
  • Able to work with electrical testing equipment and tools.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution, and related protection and control schemes.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
  • Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, and job management ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerDB, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience, and work location.
