Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A in Jackson, MS to lead maintenance on Herc fleet at customer job sites. You will diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and communicate clearly with customers.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, hands-on mechanical aptitude, ability to read manuals and schematics, on-call availability, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate equipment and test systems on site.
• Read owner manuals, schematics and product warnings.
• Own a selection of hand and air/electric tools for repairs.
• On-call availability and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose and battery service.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to keep units in service.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Replace parts and restore equipment to safe working condition.
• Educate customers on proper use to prevent future breakdowns.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Maintain a clean, organized jobsite work area.
