Job Description Summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support field service staff and customers on GE Power Conversion equipment (Drive, automation, rotating machines, auxiliary equipment) system issues. Reaches back to CoE as appropriate.
  • Provide technical support for new unit installation / startup and other outage work scopes.
  • Work with customer personnel (Operations, Engineering, Training, and Purchasing) to resolve product issues, maximize plant availability, and improve customer service. Develop customer relationships and improve project profitability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive actions and resolve customer issues using best practices. Communicate results effectively to customers.
  • Record product issues and provide feedback to Engineering and Quality, identifying ongoing problems and faults. Analyze risks and establish contingency plans.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3 years of field service and/or commissioning experience.
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain Secret level clearance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience within an engineering environment.
  • Experience in a customer-facing Service environment, with ability to maintain long-term relationships with Government customers.
  • Technical knowledge of power conversion products (controls/automation, variable frequency drives, power, rotating machines).
  • Effective team building and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, proficient in MS Office tools.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to shifting priorities.
