Job summary

BSK Associates seeks a Special Inspector to perform complex field tests, document observations, and lead junior technicians. The position emphasizes adherence to CBC/IBC/ASTM standards and safety on site in California.

Qualifications

• Completed technical training in a relevant field.
• Nationally recognized certifications required; at least one ICC certification for those with 2-5 years of experience.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of technicians.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• In-depth knowledge of CBC, IBC, ASTM, ACI, AWS standards.
• Two years of construction related experience.
• Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex tests and record detailed observations related to project requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate project records.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to other technicians.
• Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and project specifications.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during field activities.
• Ability to understand and read plans and specifications applicable to the inspection duties.
• Knowledge of CBC, IBC, ASTM, ACI, AWS standards.
• Ability to clearly write daily field reports and non-conformance reports.
• Exercise high levels of ethics.
