Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a Construction Survey Crew Chief to perform field geomatics on civil projects, utilizing GPS, robotic total stations, and scanning equipment. The role requires setting up controls, collecting data, and ensuring safety and accuracy in all field activities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in surveying, CST preferred, strong math/calculation skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience with surveying instruments and equipment.
• Certified Survey Technician (CST) preferred.
• Strong technical, measurement and calculations skills.
• Strong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal).
• Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
• Able to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions and environments and carry up to 80lbs.
• Valid driver''s license and ability to meet company MVR standards, clean background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Set up, verify, and operate GPS, Robotic Total Station, Scanning Total Station, Automatic and Digital Levels, and Traditional Total Station equipment, including required error checks.
• Verify existing survey control and establish or re-establish control as needed.
• Collect basic topographic and as-built data.
• Perform Rapid Static sessions.
• Perform scans for sign confirmations and as-built documentation in areas with limited access.
• Perform layout of low-, intermediate-, and high-risk items, as applicable to the equipment and project requirements.
