Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an RVA CLS Principal Field Engineer to lead field technicians, troubleshoot RVA equipment, and ensure safe, compliant maintenance across remote sites and at FE Warren AFB.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and experience with cables, fiber optics, and training personnel. Occasional travel and a 5/40 schedule are expected; security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years with Bachelor's in Science; 3+ years with Masters; 1+ year with PhD; additional 4 years may substitute for degree.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
• Experience training personnel on system hardware.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Able to lift heavy equipment (up to 40 lbs) and work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead Field Technician teams to repair RVA equipment.
• Ensure safety, security, and KPI compliance.
• Provide training and on-call support for users.
• Follow maintenance manuals and approved drawings precisely.
• Operate vehicles/equipment safely; validate documentation.
• Ensure CDL and climbing credentials where required.
• Plan missions, manage configurations, and document actions.
• Perform hardware tasks including soldering and fiber optics.
• Maintain CPR/first aid certification and conduct on-site testing.
