Scope Of Position

As a Lead Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems tailored for each customer. We seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented, customer-focused team member who acts as a role model for other field engineers. You will solve complex problems, lead training for less experienced engineers, and serve as a product and technical expert in the field.

Essential Job Functions

1. Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
2. Serve as a local contact for technical issues.
3. Offer effective solutions for complex system issues.
4. Ensure turnkey project delivery on medium to large projects.
5. Ensure proper operation of systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
6. Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
7. Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
8. Communicate and document project status and details for the customer.
9. Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

Required Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a technical field.
3. Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift items up to 50lbs.
4. Valid driver’s license and insurability by the company’s insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree, technical/business certificate or diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
2. Proficiency with building automation software like WebCTRL and installing controls.
3. Ability to navigate and integrate various building automation systems.
4. Expertise with TCP/IP networks, including wireless tech.
5. Experience managing multiple challenges across disciplines.
6. Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical audiences.
7. Excellent communication skills and team collaboration ability.
8. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
