Scope Of Position

As a Lead Field Engineer, you will be crucial to Carrier’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems tailored for each customer. You should work well in a team, with excellent time management, organization, communication, technical, and troubleshooting skills. You will serve as a technical and product expert, solving complex problems, training less experienced engineers, and acting as a field contact.

Essential Job Functions

1. Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems using advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
2. Mentor and develop less experienced Field Engineers on tools and technology.
3. Serve as local contact for technical issues.
4. Offer solutions for complex system issues.
5. Deliver turnkey projects on medium to large scales.
6. Ensure systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
7. Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
8. Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
9. Communicate and document project status and details.
10. Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Associate degree, or technical diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
• Proficiency with building automation software like WebCTRL and control installation.
• Ability to navigate various building automation systems.
• Expertise in TCP/IP networks and wireless technology.
• Experience handling multiple challenges across disciplines.
• Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
