Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Field Control Specialist for our Overland Park, KS office, with consideration for Topeka, KS, Kansas City, MO, and St. Louis, MO. Lead field control system commissioning, startup, and outage support for utilities and industrial plants.

You will work with Rockwell ControlLogix, AVEVA System Platform/Wonderware InTouch, DeltaV, and ABB DCS platforms, including instrumentation install and boiler control testing. Travel required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive field controls, commissioning, startup, or industrial power plant ops.
• Experience with instrumentation installation, loop checks, and calibration in active plants.
• Experience with boiler control systems and combustion testing.
• Strong safety knowledge and OSHA 30-hour training completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead field control system commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and outage support.
• Serve as technical authority for PLC- and DCS-based control systems (Rockwell, AVEVA, DCS).
• Plan and execute field work within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Produce calibration records and as-built deliverables per standards.
• Interface with operations staff, vendors, and internal teams for safe execution.
• Support proposals and identify follow-on field opportunities.
• Promote proactive safety culture and document near misses.
