Job summary

MKL Careers seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on Los Angeles projects. You will oversee subcontractors, manage safety, schedule, quality, and budget, and coordinate with owners, architects, and engineers.

You will supervise assistants, field engineers, and interns; develop recovery plans to maintain milestones; ensure compliance with contract documents and safety codes. Healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four years' related experience training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, drawings and specifications, including Microsoft Office Suite and EH&S applications.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
• Oversee work among assigned trades to promote coordinated project operations and resolve issues.
• Manage the overall site safety program and subcontractor compliance with safety codes and client standards.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Interns, including performance input.
• Create schedules and determine sequencing of work; develop recovery strategies to maintain schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues and resolutions.
• Manage billing related to Work In Place (WIP) and monthly estimates, payrolls, invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure work installed complies with approved contract documents.
