Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced FDM specialist to own prototype builds from initial CAD intake through finished parts. You will oversee a fleet of eight FDM systems, including four industrial machines, manage ~10–20 active jobs, and collaborate with design engineers on material choices, build strategies, and printer settings to meet strict requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on additive manufacturing in a prototype environment or 2 years with proven end-to-end ownership
• Deep hands-on experience with FDM systems including setup, calibration, build prep, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience owning builds from CAD intake through finished part, including toolpaths and post-processing.
• Ability to evaluate CAD for printability, material choice, orientation, tolerances, lead time, and cost.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot print failures, manage multiple active jobs, and communicate risks to engineers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a lab/shop environment.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to export-controlled information access

Responsibilities

• Own FDM builds end to end from CAD review to delivery.
• Operate and calibrate a fleet of industrial and development FDM printers.
• Review CAD for printability and identify issues with geometry, wall thickness, orientation, tolerances, supports, and clearances.
• Collaborate with design engineers to determine lead times and material requirements.
• Prepare and optimize builds using slicer software and create custom toolpaths when needed.
• Balance 10–20 active jobs across machines and manage priorities and resources.
