Lead Facility Maintenance Technician

Job Goal

Incumbents are responsible for performing a wide variety of routine facility and grounds maintenance activities, which may include minor painting, plumbing repairs, and sprinkler maintenance. Incumbents serve as a lead to Custodians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., and two years of related facility maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• IVP Fingerprint Card.

Performance Responsibilities

• The Lead Facility Maintenance Technician is the third level in a three-level building maintenance series.
• Distinguished from Custodians by its facility and grounds maintenance responsibilities.
• Requires physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
• May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, and chemicals.
• Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Knowledge and Skills

• Inventory principles, sanitation, cleaning chemicals, grounds maintenance, safety procedures, basic mathematics, work assignment and prioritization, inventory management, custodial equipment, and communication skills.

Terms of Employment

• Reports to: Site Administrator
• Location: Districtwide
• Hours: 9.5 hrs/day, 12-month calendar
• Salary: ESP Salary Schedule C, as approved
• Benefits: As approved
• FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
