Job summary

RTX Goleta, CA is seeking a Lead Technician, Facilities – Mechanical Rooms to ensure reliable operation of HVAC, boilers and vacuum systems in a semiconductor fab and related spaces. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and manage small projects in a safety‑driven environment onsite.

The role requires 6+ years of technician experience, an AS/AA degree or equivalent, HVAC expertise, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ years Technician experience and an AS/AA degree or other 2 year post High school education, training or certification or applicable experience in Facilities Maintenance, Mechanical occupations, or other industrial setting.
• 3+ years’ HVAC Mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills.
• General knowledge of pneumatic controls, thermostats and VAV Boxes.
• Experience working on large air/water cooled chillers.
• Service and repair of environmental-control systems associated with mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in the maintenance of large “custom” and cleanroom air handlers.
• Thorough understanding of heating and ventilation systems for cleanrooms, electronics labs, and environmental lab areas.
• Maintenance of cooling towers and the associated systems involved with their operation.
• US citizenship and possession of a valid California state driver’s license.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Machinery operation, maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to perform maintenance-related tasks, such as troubleshooting and maintaining pump systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, HVAC systems, backup emergency power systems, etc.
• Electrical troubleshooting.
• Project management – Small projects. Required to work in compliance with OSHA and Raytheon safety policies and procedures, as applicable, to ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Strong organizational skills.
