GlobalFoundries in Essex, VT seeks a first shift Principal Technician for Chemical System Maintenance, Deionized Water, and Operations. The role operates in a 200mm semiconductor facility, with on-site work and some weekend coverage, reporting to the facilities leadership. Leadership experience is valued.

Requires an associate degree in engineering/tech, 7–8 years in related fields, strong English communication, and safety-focused mechanical skills including PPE usage and confined spaces access.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, technology, or related field.
• 7–8 years in related or mechanical field.
• Weekend availability / rotating holiday coverage.
• Fluency in English, written & verbal.
• Physical ability to lift 30 lbs and wear respirator.
• Some leadership / supervisory experience.
• Clear communication and collaboration across teams.
• Ability to work in cleanroom environment with PPE.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily operations by leading teams across 4 shifts in safe, compliant, and efficient chemical handling while providing guidance and mentoring.
• Ensure proper system operation by performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Respond to and troubleshoot system alarms and controls.
• Perform mechanical field work on filters, resin vessels, UV lights, pumps, valves, tanks, tubing, piping, and controls.
• Lead and coordinate improvement projects to increase safety, continuous operations, and organizational capability.
• Work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership to operate, maintain, and enhance various types of distribution equipment in Manufacturing areas.
