Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Facilities Ambulatory Senior Technician for James Outpatient Care to perform renovation and restoration work, install and repair carpentry, flooring, doors and ceilings, and update drawings. You will lead a team of technicians, mentor staff, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years' experience in general construction, carpentry, fire-stopping, or painting.
• At least one year of experience equivalent to a senior level within the skilled trades series.
• Probationary period requires OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health.
• Possibly valid State of Ohio driver license.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry: fabricate/repair/install cabinets, walls, doors, ceilings, windows and related structures.
• Finishing: install/repair ceilings, wall treatments, trim, shelving and signage; paint/stain.
• Fire-stopping: inspect and install fire-rated walls/doors per NFPA/UL codes.
• Flooring: install/repair flooring systems and related components.
• Lead a team of facilities technicians and coordinate/provide guidance to staff.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety practices; update drawings and documentation.
