Job summary

UCS, Inc. is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician in Lincolnton, NC. The role focuses on proactive troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, with strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The successful candidate will manage routine maintenance, respond to requests, and supervise on-site installations and vendor work. Qualifications include at least five years in facilities maintenance, ability to read schematics, and a Facilities Mgmt Certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of responsibility in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Facilities and Grounds Management Certificate preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to read schematics.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork focus.
• Clear English communication, both written and spoken.
• Commitment to safety practices in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems by reading and interpreting schematics.
• Fabricate components as needed to improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential issues.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimize operations disruption.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, lighting, and panels; maintain HVAC and plumbing.
• Lead/supervise special projects; act as maintenance point of contact for on-site work.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep compliance logs; maintain records.
