Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to lead inmates or staff in semi-skilled and skilled repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds tasks within a secure facility. You will train workers, assign tasks, and ensure safe, compliant maintenance operations.

Responsibilities include inspecting buildings and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and operating machine tools and welding equipment; maintain tool inventories.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance repair including electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
• Valid CDL required if handling motor equipment.
• Formal arithmetic and basic English skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead workers or staff in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks.
• Repair and maintain electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC components.
• Inspect buildings and equipment for needed repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Operate machine tools and welding equipment.
• Maintain tool safety and inventories.
• Assist in related job crafts as required.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in meetings and trainings.
