Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer for the East Syracuse facility. The role oversees operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC, and utility systems, providing technical leadership to the team and coordinating with site management to meet client needs.

Responsibilities include directing daily facilities operations, implementing preventive maintenance, reviewing work orders, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in building operations, building automation, system controls, HVAC/R and boilers.
• Pesticide Applicators license required.
• Proficient computer skills; CMMS familiarity.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong customer service, problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead for monitoring key systems, guiding troubleshooting and operational needs.
• Supervise the team responsible for operation and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, utilities).
• Direct daily facilities operations, maintenance activities and major repair projects.
• Drive continuous improvement using performance data and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors, facilities personnel, and client site management.
• Prepare safety permits and ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Perform installation, maintenance and repair on boilers, HVAC, chillers and related systems.
• Review completed work orders and maintenance logs for accuracy and documentation.
