Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks an ERS Systems Integration Lead to drive architecture and integration of the Energy Recovery System for Formula 1 power units. You will lead cross-functional teams across battery, e-motor, power electronics, thermal management and control systems, defining system level requirements and interfaces for a bespoke hybrid power unit.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in high-performance hybrid or electric powertrain development or similar.
• Experience in systems engineering or systems integration for complex electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Define ERS system architecture and interfaces across ERS, ICE, chassis, and vehicle control.
• Lead cross-functional integration reviews with mechanical, electrical, thermal, controls, and software teams.
• Guide concept and tradeoff studies using modeling, simulation, and test data.
• Define system verification and validation plans (dyno, HIL, rigs).
• Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Ensure ERS integration complies with FIA regulations and HV safety standards.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for ERS systems and integration activities.
• Plan and prioritize ERS work with PM and technical leads.
• Mentor engineers and communicate risks to stakeholders.
