Fluor is seeking an Extrusion Operator – Shift Head to join the pipe extrusion department in Early Branch, SC. The role oversees extrusion lines and supervises shift personnel during the day shift, ensuring continuous production and quality.

The position requires experience in continuous manufacturing, setup and troubleshooting, and a strong focus on quality. Candidates should be organized, communicative, and capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a continuous manufacturing process environment.
• Experience in setting up, troubleshooting, tear downs, and changeovers.
• Ability to follow standards, rules, policies, work instructions and directions.
• Ability to operate equipment, mechanical aptitude, and reasoning ability.
• Understanding the importance of machine set-up and producing premium quality products.
• Have a quality focus.
• Ability to use measuring equipment.
• Forklift license/experience.
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize shift production personnel under supervision.
• Communicate with pipe yard personnel during production.
• Maintain and operate extrusion machinery.
• Handle raw material for extrusion operations.
• Set up tools and calibrators.
• Start up various profiles and follow start-up procedures.
• Check extruder before starting up; ensure no tools left on table.
• Make minor adjustments to equipment.
• Inspect line for quality and identify issues early.
• Report maintenance, scrap and shift changes to supervisor/manager.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Tag tools when removed to indicate maintenance needs.
• Pursue continuous learning.
