Trs Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Extrusion Operator – Shift Head for a plastic pipe manufacturer in Early Branch, SC.

Shift: 6am–6pm; you will oversee extrusion lines and supervise night shift personnel, ensuring continuous production and coordinating with production management, pipe yard, and quality teams. This role emphasizes equipment operation, setup, troubleshooting, changeovers, quality control, and reporting to the production supervisor.

• Ability to follow standards, policies and work instructions.
• Operate equipment with mechanical aptitude and sound reasoning.
• Commitment to premium quality production.
• Ability to use measuring equipment and maintain accuracy.
• Forklift license/experience required.
• Strong math and computer skills for production control.
• Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities.

• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize shift production personnel under supervision.
• Communicate with pipe yard personnel during production.
• Maintain and operate plastic extrusion machinery.
• Handle raw materials for extrusion operations.
• Set up tools and calibrators for production start.
• Start up various profiles and follow start-up procedures.
• Check extruder before startup to ensure tools are not left on the table.
• Make minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
• Inspect line for quality and identify issues early.
• Report maintenance, scrap, and shift changes to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean work environment and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Tag tools when removed for maintenance.
• Engage in continuous learning and process improvement.
