Responsibilities

• Manage and organize shift production personnel under supervision.

Job description

Our client, a manufacturer of plastic pipes and fittings, is looking for an Extrusion Operator - Shift Head to join their pipe extrusion department in Early Branch, SC. Hours: 6am to 6pm. The Extrusion Operator – Shift Head is a key technical role responsible for operating extrusion lines and managing personnel during night shifts, ensuring continuous and seamless pipe production during plant operations, while collaborating closely with production management, pipe yard operations, and quality teams. The Extrusion Operator – Shift Head will manage shift personnel, organize roles during shifts, be responsible for the correct functioning of the production machinery, identify and correct production issues before they arise, and communicate with the production supervisor and the production manager.

• Managing and organizing shift production personnel under their supervision.
• Communicate effectively with pipe yard personnel during pipe production.
• Maintaining and operating plastic extrusion machinery.
• Handling raw material for extrusion operations.
• Setting up tools and calibrators.
• Starting up various profiles, ensuring start-up procedures are followed.
• Check the entire extruder before starting up to ensure no tools are left on the table.
• Making minor adjustments to equipment.
