Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) Field Supervisor in New York to oversee the canine team, ensure client satisfaction, and maintain standards of performance. The role manages EDC Handlers and collaborates with clients to meet contract requirements in a fast-paced security environment.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in civilian law enforcement or military explosive detection, TSA 3PK9 certification, and strong communication, time management, and training skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Security license or equivalent licensing as required.
• TSA 3PK9 certification or ability to obtain it.
• Minimum of three years with civilian law enforcement or military explosive detection handlers.
• Minimum of one year as an MSA Explosive Detection Canine Handler.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and clients.
• Excellent time management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Adequate living environment for canine exercise and training.
• Reliable transportation for transporting the canine to/from work.
• Willingness for incident/emergency response duty and client demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Provide input into employee standards of performance and conduct and SOPs.
• Work with clients to assess satisfaction, identify concerns, and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with client management to meet contract obligations and maintain relations.
• Train and retrain team members using best-practice industry knowledge.
• Discipline Handlers when needed, up to termination.
• Ensure adherence to post standard operating procedures and client-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with other MSA departments to ensure reliable operations.
• Review post orders with employees and clarify misunderstandings.
• Coach and document performance feedback and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure professional behavior toward clients, colleagues, and the public.
