Job summary

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond seeks a Project Manager for Exhibitions and Collections to guide complex cross‑functional projects from planning through installation and closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications, lead meetings, develop practical solutions when priorities shift, and collaborate with curatorial, conservation, production, and external partners.

• Demonstrated project management experience with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
• Proactive, self-directed work style with ability to move work forward with limited supervision.
• Strong follow‑through and ownership of assignments and action items.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse teams.
• Ability to lead meetings, facilitate discussions, and drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead exhibitions, collection installations, and rotations from planning through closeout.
• Oversee scope, schedules, budgets, and communications across teams and external partners.
• Coordinate approvals, deliverables, and contracts; support procurement as needed.
• Maintain accurate project information in systems (Asana, SharePoint, TMS).
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
