Job summary

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) is expanding its campus with major construction projects. We are seeking a highly organized Construction Project Coordinator to support planning, administration, and communications across capital initiatives in a busy, public-facing museum setting.

You will coordinate schedules, meetings, documentation, procurement, and dashboards; liaise with contractors and museum teams; and help ensure compliance and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction project coordination or capital project administration.
• Understanding of construction workflows in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction and renovation activities from planning through closeout.
• Support and organize OAC meetings, contractor tours, weekly project check-ins, and executive updates.
• Maintain project calendars, prepare agendas, distribute materials, and manage detailed project documentation.
• Review meeting minutes and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
• Distribute weekly project dashboards, updates, and construction notices.
• Track project expenditures and assist with budget alignment.
