Job summary

BJCC in Birmingham, AL seeks an Event Manager to lead planning, organization, execution, and overall management of assigned events across BJCC venues. You will coordinate logistics, event documents, and client needs while serving as primary on-site contact and ensuring safety compliance.

Responsibilities include pre-event planning, floor plan review for fire and occupancy codes, cost estimation, and post-event reviews.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years related knowledge, experience, and skills in the hospitality industry.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business management, public administration, or related field.
Industry certification strongly preferred: CMP, CSEP, CGMP, CMM, CEM, CEPS or equal.
Valid State of Alabama Driver License.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, execute and manage assigned events at BJCC venues.
Coordinate logistical requirements, event documents and client needs.
On-site facility contact; direct operations teams to meet client requirements.
Pre-event planning meetings; review event history and floor plans.
Ensure floor plans comply with fire and occupancy codes; coordinate with Fire Prevention.
Produce event estimates and settle show costs per contract terms.
Serve as Manager on Duty and handle crowd management for large events.
Review contracts and schedules; provide event outlines and instructions.
Maintain relationships with BJCC partners and clients; resolve onsite disputes.
