Job summary

The City of Tucson Fire Department is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor to oversee the repair and maintenance of ambulances and fire apparatus. You will supervise technicians, plan daily work, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards and manufacturer requirements.

This role requires progressive ASE and EVT certifications with year-by-year milestones, plus strong safety training, quality inspections, and supervision in a busy, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Requires achievement of Tier 1 ASE Certifications within the first year
• Requires achievement of Tier 1 EVT Certifications within the first year
• Achievement of Tier 2 certifications by year 2 and Tier 3 by year 3
• Achievement of Tier 4 certifications by year 4 and Tier 5 by year 5
• Certifications must align with NFPA standards and vehicle maintenance practices

Responsibilities

• Supervises, schedules, and evaluates repair and maintenance tasks for the assigned shift
• Sets priorities, monitors workflow, conducts quality inspections and assesses equipment performance
• Coordinates statutory inspections and safety-related activities; leads daily workflow meetings
• Provides safety training and instruction on new vehicle technologies for efficient and safe operations
